jTwitster 1 year later

So I played around with the jTwitster application. I like how it works and I made some nice controls that I can reuse. The problem is Snaptu made a client and it is brilliant and I am out of free time to continue working on my application.

I will probably open source it on Codeplex or Google Code. Since it is Java, I guess Google Code would be the right place.

What is jTwitster

So why another Twitter client? Well I would have liked to use the current mobile Twitter clients but because I do not own an iPhone my choices were limited.

I looked around and I couldn't really find a client that I liked, so I decided to create my own client in Java that will work on any MIDP 2.0 mobile device.

I could have used the web clients out there in the cloud, but they also do not allow me to do my favourite Twitter actions easily. Things like retweeting, replying and direct messaging is not as easy as the desktop applications I am used to, so I want more than what the web clients could provide.

So jTwitster will do everything I like to do using my desktop Twitter applications.
